Adorama has some pretty sweet deals on some refurbished Nikons:

Both of these include all accessories you’d get with a new model, save for the warranty – which is a 90 day US warranty from Nikon USA, as opposed to the regular 12 months…So, you’re taking a gamble on the warranty, but chances are if anything dies on these it’ll be in the first 90 days anyway.
Reading reviews on these items from customers seem to show that they’re happy with their purchase. Refurbished can mean the item was returned, or repaired under warranty. Nikon’s given it the once over and deemed it ‘refurbished’ status. I think these come in a white box as opposed to the fancier box on the new models but the shorter warranty. They might have some actuations on them as they’re not new, but close, and under warranty from Nikon for the first 90 days.
Compare these prices to new models:
Nikon D3 – $4549.95. You save close to $1000 on the refurbished model
Nikon D700 -$2699.95. You save close to $500 off with the refurbished option
These are pretty hefty discounts. 19% off on the Nikon D3, and 20% off the Nikon D700.
