Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7 Digital Camera Review

At first glance, the Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7 looks just like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 but it offers a much bigger feature set as this lumix model is placed much further up the line of digital cameras from Panasonic.

The DMC-ZS7 is small and only weighs one pound and measures 6 inches by 2 inches by 7 inches which makes the lumix dmc-zs7 a touch thicker than the FH20, but the similarities end there. The ZS7 offers more zoom with a 12x zoom ratio that starts at  a wider 25mm lens as opposed to the FH20′s 28mm wide angle lens.

With 12.1 megapixels, you have more than enough megapixels for making high quality prints up to 16×20 poster size if you wish.

The 12x zoom lens offers a wider  25mm wide angle setting which is nudging into, and might be considered an ultrawide zoom lens which is great for shooting landscapes and group photos of your friends and family.  The zoom lens on the Panasonic ZS7 also extends out to 300mm which is more than enough lens extension to get you close to the action when you physically cannot.  As an example of when a telephoto zoom lens might come in handy is shooting your kids for capturing action or a day at the zoo or park, but you cannot for safety reasons get as close to the subject as you might want to. With the ZS7 you’re free to make great photos from every location.

HD movies are recorded in AVCHD Lite offer high definiton motion picture movies, that can double the recording time compared with the more standard JPEG video recording. The end result for you is you get more recording time using the same size memory card, saving you cost and hassle of swapping memory cards to keep shooting. Full stereo sound  is also recorded when making high definition movies with the new ZS7 from Panasonic.

The GPS feature built in to the Panasonic ZS7 allows you to easily record the location and time your photographs and high definition movies were made and this makes for an excellent shooting experience when travelling. Using the GPS, you’ll always be able to record exactly where you were, and when you made your memories.

When you get home with the Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7 you can hook up the digital camera to your HDTV using the mini-HDMI connector built into the Panasonic.  It’s a fantastic way to share your images and videos in high definition in the comfort of your home or office.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 has a suggested list price of  $399.99, but most online vendors offer a significant discount on this feature packed digital camera. Buy the Panasonic DMC ZS7 from Amazon, Ritz, B+H and Adorama and save close to $100 off list price

      Best Digital Cameras

Trying to determine what the best digital camera is depends on so many different variables it’s almost mind boggling. When I started in photography cameras had settings for shutter speed on the camera body, aperture on the camera lens and that was pretty much it. Fast Forward to 2010 cameras have gotten easier to use thanks to digital camera technology in the form of point and shoot and single lens reflex formats but what is the best digital camera that suits your needs? The best digital camera for sports might be a SLR, but when you have to carry a [...]

      Canon SD4000is Digital Camera Review

Canon SD400is Digital Camera The Canon SD4000is has to be considered one of, if not the most feature packed digital cameras I have reviewed to date. This new digital camera  from Canon announced in March 2010 offers many new and advanced technology features that include a super slow movie mode, a fast f/2.0 lens (same as the S90) and a low light shooting mode that makes this digital camera a dream to use when the light is low. Canon Powershot SX20is Digital Camera Review

The Canon SX20is digital camera has one very, very important feature that in my own opinion makes the Canon SX20is a best selling digital camera and beats a lot of other digital cameras on the market today: A 20x zoom lens This one feature (actually there’s another but we’ll get to that in a moment) makes this the best and one of the cheaper digital cameras that are perfect for travelling this summer. With the Canon SX20is you can carry only one camera with you yet still make great photos and use the flexibility that only a 20x zoom lens [...]

Nikon Coolpix S8000 Digital Camera Review

The Nikon Coolpix S8000 small and compact digital camera offer a whole lot of features considering it’s size and price.  With a suggested retail price of $299, it’s still a deal of a digital camera, but with discounts you can buy the Nikon S8000 for much less than the ‘suggested price’ might be. But enough about the Nikon S8000 price, what makes or breaks a digital camera is it’s feature set and the Nikon S8000 is no slouch. Offering 14 megapixels (actually, 14.2) and a 10x optical zoom lens and 3 inch LCD you’d think that would be enough features right [...]

Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital Camera Review

The Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital Camera takes what was already a very good digital camera in the Canon EOS Rebel T1i and improves on the T1i even further improvements such as more megapixels, better low light sensitivity, and an improved movie mode that offers manual exposure control and Full HD video recording at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Like the earlier T1i, the T2i comes in two different configurations: one with kit lens, and one configured as just the camera body only with no lens at all included. Today, I’m reviewing the Canon T2i with 18-55mm zoom lens, so you’re [...]
