Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens
Video. The New Nikon D90 is one of the first Digital SLRs to allow you to shoot video as well as still photography. If there had to be one feature that made the D90 stand out from the crowd of Digital DSLR‘s, the capability to shoot video would definitely one of the major features that this camera offers.
The D90 takes the 12.3 megapixel sensor from the Nikon D300 giving you the sam low-noise high ISO features that the Nikon D300 is known for at a much lesser cost.
As I mentioned above, the ONE feature that the D90 offers is video, and the fact that you can shoot 720p High Definition Video from this small DSLR is just amazing.
The Nikon D90 is fast, with a 4.5 frames per second shutter speed means you’ll never miss the action. The eleven point autofocus system is even faster and the matrix metering gives you spot-on exposures.
Low Noise sensitivity has to be one of the more compelling features of the Nikon D90. Low light shooting still gives you crisp, properly exposed photos with little to low noise at ISO’s up to ISO 3200
The 3 inch LCD display is 3 dimensional in quality. 920,000 pixels worth of bright, clear and colorful screen real estate allowing you to review, edit and even shoot using the Live View under the harshest lighting conditions.
New to the 90 is Face Detection AF, which is an added feature for sure.
The combination of the 3-D Matix Metering II and the Auto Active D-Lighting make for perfect exposures. The Auto Active D-Lighting corrects exposure on the fly for the ultimate in perfect exposure accuracy. The ADR is really good. No more washed out highlight and blocked up shadows.
The shutter is rated for 100,000 cycles. Unless you’re a photojournalist or pro that spends each day, every day shooting this is more than enough. The camera will be obsolete long before you get to 100k shutter releases.
The Nikon D90 offers in camera image editing, including the ability to create black and white images, D-Lighting control and Red Eye Reduction are a few ways you can manipulate your images in camera.
The MSRP on the Nikon D90 with 18-105mm lens is $1299.95. but you can get it for much less at Amazon, Adorama, Ritz, or B+H. All of these vendors are reputable and recommended.
