I’m wondering if anybody else has issues with a Nikon D300 and the MB-D10 battery grip when using AA’s?
I first noticed this back in the summer when I bought 2 party packs of Duracell AA’s from Costco. I’d load up the MB-D10 and nothing. Tried everything, and nothing. The D300 would not show that there were any batteries in the grip.
So, I switched to The energizer’s. They worked! Okay…..I have a camera/grip combo that prefers energizers. But I don’t think so…I’ve just spend about a half an hour trying to get the camera to recognize the MB-D10 Grip with the fresh energizers. I know it has something to do with the connectors on the bottom.
What worked for me this time was:
- Turn D300 off
- Take out D300 battery
- Install MB-D10 with AA’s (Batter pack is recognized)
- re-install D300 batter
- re-install MB-D10 grip

Thanks for this solution.
Have experienced exactly the same issue. Will try it as soon as I can. Was just about to return it to the store…
