This is such a good idea. I had started a spreadsheet doing this, but then only I can view it..with this way, you too can contine to follow me in the earnings..or losses so far – soap opera of this site.
Income:
Google Adsense: $1.63
Affiliate Programs: Nothing. Zero. I’m having some luck with Amazon this past week but others show no sales yet.I wonder why that is? It’s still early days with this site. I have a pending sale listed at Adorama,but I’m not counting it until the ‘pending’ gets lifted. It’s a doozy too. a $97 commission. But just because an order has been placed doesn’t mean it ships.
I messed around with the ad placement and placed the 320×250 google adsense boxes further downpage. I have also deleted the featured listings from the front page, as it’s really duplicate. The featured items are featured using the cool slideshow thing. I don’t need to re-list them again further down the page.
What I did add was the ‘Full Disclosure’ Category, and my ‘Junk Drawer’ category for stuff that just doesn’t fit anywhere else.
Lastly, I’m promoting the top selling camera in the right hand corner of every page. (best selling according to amazon) over time, I’ll swap this out with whatever the current top seller is. In this case, it’s the Canon A590IS and I can see why.. At $100 it’s got an impressive feature set.
So…to summarize: A whopping $1.63 in income for today.
Traffic
1706 Unique Visitors for today, but it’s the weekend so if traffic is down a bit over the week I think that’s expected and acceptable.
Grand Total:
$-45.57 + 1.63 = $43.94 in the hole.
Does anybody want to have a guess when I’ll break even? If so, leave a comment. If there’s enough interest I’ll start a contest with it.
