Adorama has the Canon Powershot SX110IS  on sale for $199.95. That’s a $50 savings off the regular price of $249.99. 

I’ve got more info on this little compact here. Features include a 10x optical zoom, 9 megapixels, and it runs entirely on AA batteries which are easy to get pretty much anywhere. You don’t have to worry about chargers and different adapters with this camera. Face detection and three different kinds of red eye reduction make this camera $200 well spent.
