Canon EOS Rebel T1i Digital Camera Review

Canon T1i Digital Camera ReviewWhile not brand new and released from Canon about a year ago this past April, the Canon T1i can be a perfect and small compact digital SLR that’s priced and ships with a image stabilized zoom lens for about $750.00 from  most online vendors. While pricier than compact cameras, the T2i can  take your photography to an entirely different level due to the DSLR format, you’ll enjoy faster startup and  less lag time and the T2i is fully compatible with a wide selection of lenses and flash units. The T1i works well as a stand alone camera, or you can use it to grow your dslr system as your photographic skills improve and your budget allows.

The T1i was one of the first digital SLRs to offer High definition video recording, as well as still photography. The high definition video is recorded at a full 1920×1080 digital resolution and can be viewed in all it’s high def glory on your high definition TV using the built in HDMI output allowing you to share  your movies with friends and family.

With 15.1 megapixels, the Canon T1i beats many other digital SLR’s in the megapixel war – even more expensive digital SLR’s that are aimed at the more advanced and even professional digital cameras. The T1i is hard to beat if you value a high megapixel  count.

But there’s more to buying a digital camera than just counting pixels. More important features such as handling speed, autofocus speed exposure and other modes should mean more than just the resolution of a digital camera.

the T1i offers these features: Using  the high end digic iv processor, the T2i is a fast and responsive digital DSLR from Canon that also offers some pretty neat features such as a bright 3 inch LCD display, a ‘live view’ function so you can use the display to compose your photos – just like you would with a point and shoot digital camera and an array of autofocus modes including face detection, so your friend  and family will always look their best when shooting with the T1i.

Included with the camera body, is an 18-55 image stabilized zoom lens, that due to the smaller sensor used in the T1i, works out to be about  a 28mm to 80mm (approx) zoom lens that is a great starter lens for this digital camera, as both wide angle and telephoto ranges are included with Canon T1i digital camera kit. One of the most important features of this lens is that it was built for the EOS system cameras and offers image stabilization that results in sharper photos that you may not get otherwise.  And due to the DSLR format as your skills and needs grow, you can exchange lens and add to your Canon digital camera system as your photographic needs grow.

The Canon EOS T1i with 18-55mm lens is an excellent peformer  that included a high megapixel count,  HD video recording and sharing, and modern digital camera features such as face detection, live view,  and fast startup and almost no lag time. The suggested retail price on the Canon T1i digital camera is $899, but with a bit of shopping at Amazon, Ritz, B+H and Adorama you can do much better on price and save $100 or more off the retail list price  on the Canon T1i.

      Best Digital Cameras

Trying to determine what the best digital camera is depends on so many different variables it’s almost mind boggling. When I started in photography cameras had settings for shutter speed on the camera body, aperture on the camera lens and that was pretty much it. Fast Forward to 2010 cameras have gotten easier to use thanks to digital camera technology in the form of point and shoot and single lens reflex formats but what is the best digital camera that suits your needs? The best digital camera for sports might be a SLR, but when you have to carry a [...]

      Canon SD4000is Digital Camera Review

Canon SD400is Digital Camera The Canon SD4000is has to be considered one of, if not the most feature packed digital cameras I have reviewed to date. This new digital camera  from Canon announced in March 2010 offers many new and advanced technology features that include a super slow movie mode, a fast f/2.0 lens (same as the S90) and a low light shooting mode that makes this digital camera a dream to use when the light is low. Canon Powershot SX20is Digital Camera Review

The Canon SX20is digital camera has one very, very important feature that in my own opinion makes the Canon SX20is a best selling digital camera and beats a lot of other digital cameras on the market today: A 20x zoom lens This one feature (actually there’s another but we’ll get to that in a moment) makes this the best and one of the cheaper digital cameras that are perfect for travelling this summer. With the Canon SX20is you can carry only one camera with you yet still make great photos and use the flexibility that only a 20x zoom lens [...]

Nikon Coolpix S8000 Digital Camera Review

The Nikon Coolpix S8000 small and compact digital camera offer a whole lot of features considering it’s size and price.  With a suggested retail price of $299, it’s still a deal of a digital camera, but with discounts you can buy the Nikon S8000 for much less than the ‘suggested price’ might be. But enough about the Nikon S8000 price, what makes or breaks a digital camera is it’s feature set and the Nikon S8000 is no slouch. Offering 14 megapixels (actually, 14.2) and a 10x optical zoom lens and 3 inch LCD you’d think that would be enough features right [...]

Like the earlier T1i, the T2i comes in two different configurations: one with kit lens, and one configured as just the camera body only with no lens at all included. Today, I’m reviewing the Canon T2i with 18-55mm zoom lens, so you’re [...]
