Choosing the Best Digital Point and Shoot Camera isn’t easy. There are so many choices: Wide angle lenses, waterproof cameras, high speed ISO shooting, touch LCD screens, zoom lenses, high zoom lenses the choices for a point and shoot digital camera are many and the major manufacturers from Panasonic, Nikon, Samsun, Canon and HP keep on coming out with newer digital camera models each and every day which makes chosing the best digital camera for your needs that much harder.

I have taken the time to research all top selling digital point and shoot cameras and I have created a top ten list of the current best selling digital cameras. Whether your needs are for HD video for your travels, or just quick snapshots at birthday parties or family events, you will find a top selling digital camera that meets your photographic needs.

1. The two best selling digital point and shoot cameras aren’t really digital cameras at all, they are video recorders. The first and best selling is the Flip Ultra HD Camcorder with 120 minutes of video recording time in black. These little flip ultra hd recorders off a one button solution to video recording with two hours of video recording time built in. Also included is a nifty little USB connector built right in so you can really just plug and play and create fantastic high definition video. The Flip Ultra HD recorder is available in black and white, with the black model being the most popular digital camera currently and the white flip ultra hd recorder right on it’s heels coming in second place

2. The Canon Digital Rebel XSI technically isn’t a point and shoot but I’m including it my top selling digital camera list anyway as it’s got a small footprint, offers many more customization options with different lenses available due to it’s SLD design, but it still offers a small footprint that isn’t much bigger than some of the point and shoot digital cameras. No,it wont’ fit in most pockets but but it does offer 12.2 megapixels, a 18-55 zoom lens with images stabilization and a high resolution 3inch LCD display, supper fast shooting and response time too.

3. The Canon Powershot SX20is is smaller in size than the Canon Digital Rebel XSi, and offers a one size fits all zoom lens with with 20x zoom with wide angle and image stabilization, a 2.5 inch articulating LCD, which means the LCD display comes away from the body, and rotates and turns so you can shoot and share your photos more easily, much like a video camera’s lcd display would.

4. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 is a 10.1 megapixel digital camera in a point and shoot format. This is no digital SLR but it still offers features lie a 12x mega wide image stabilized zoom lens and a 3 inch lcd display for reviewing and composing your photographs.

5. The Nikon Coolpix L20 is recently discontinued, but in stock and ready to ship. It’s popularity stems from the fact that it’s a Nikon digital point and shoot digital camera that is priced under $100 with reabate. Most vendors list this camera in the $85 dollar range with discount. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a great camera: The Nikon Coolpix L20 has a 3 inch LCD display, and a 3.6x optical zoom lens and ten megapixels to guarantee poster sized prints that come from a small point and shoot camera that fits in your pocket.

6. With a $30 discount the Canon Powershot SD1200is is priced at $149.00, and comes with a 2.5 inch LCD display, an image stabilized zoom lens that offers a 3x optical zoom.

7. The sony cyber-shot DSC-H20 comes standard with a 10x optical zoom lens and super steady shot image stabilization built in to this small, portable digital camera. A 10.1 megapixel resolutions gets you quality poster sized prints from your favorite memories.

8. Canon’s Powershot SD780is is a very small pocket sized digital point and shoot digital camera that easily fits into a small pocket or purse. 3x optical zoom lens with image stabiliztion, a 2.5 inch LCD display all packed into a small easy to carry package.

9. The third point and shoot digital camera in today’s lineup is another digital video recorder from Flip. This time it’s the Flip Ultra Camcorder. This video camera isnt’ HD like the other top selling cameras at the top of this list, but the good news is this digital video recorder is priced at just over $100. If you don’t need to shoot high definition and want to save some money, the flip ultra camcorder is an excellent choice.

10. Canon’s Powershot S90IS fills today’s last spot in the top selling digital camera list for today and this little compact camera offers a 3 inch LCD display, with 3.8x optical zoom lens and ten megapixels of resoltution for poster sized prints.

      Best Digital Cameras

Trying to determine what the best digital camera is depends on so many different variables it’s almost mind boggling. When I started in photography cameras had settings for shutter speed on the camera body, aperture on the camera lens and that was pretty much it. Fast Forward to 2010 cameras have gotten easier to use thanks to digital camera technology in the form of point and shoot and single lens reflex formats but what is the best digital camera that suits your needs? The best digital camera for sports might be a SLR, but when you have to carry a [...]

      Canon SD4000is Digital Camera Review

Canon SD400is Digital Camera The Canon SD4000is has to be considered one of, if not the most feature packed digital cameras I have reviewed to date. This new digital camera  from Canon announced in March 2010 offers many new and advanced technology features that include a super slow movie mode, a fast f/2.0 lens (same as the S90) and a low light shooting mode that makes this digital camera a dream to use when the light is low. Canon Powershot SX20is Digital Camera Review

The Canon SX20is digital camera has one very, very important feature that in my own opinion makes the Canon SX20is a best selling digital camera and beats a lot of other digital cameras on the market today: A 20x zoom lens This one feature (actually there’s another but we’ll get to that in a moment) makes this the best and one of the cheaper digital cameras that are perfect for travelling this summer. With the Canon SX20is you can carry only one camera with you yet still make great photos and use the flexibility that only a 20x zoom lens [...]

Nikon Coolpix S8000 Digital Camera Review

The Nikon Coolpix S8000 small and compact digital camera offer a whole lot of features considering it’s size and price.  With a suggested retail price of $299, it’s still a deal of a digital camera, but with discounts you can buy the Nikon S8000 for much less than the ‘suggested price’ might be. But enough about the Nikon S8000 price, what makes or breaks a digital camera is it’s feature set and the Nikon S8000 is no slouch. Offering 14 megapixels (actually, 14.2) and a 10x optical zoom lens and 3 inch LCD you’d think that would be enough features right [...]

Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital Camera Review

The Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital Camera takes what was already a very good digital camera in the Canon EOS Rebel T1i and improves on the T1i even further improvements such as more megapixels, better low light sensitivity, and an improved movie mode that offers manual exposure control and Full HD video recording at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Like the earlier T1i, the T2i comes in two different configurations: one with kit lens, and one configured as just the camera body only with no lens at all included. Today, I’m reviewing the Canon T2i with 18-55mm zoom lens, so you’re [...]
